Sue Moenter, PhD, is the Fred J. Karsch Collegiate Professor of Molecular & Integrative Physiology. She received her Ph.D. from University of Michigan, performed postdoctoral research at University of California San Francisco and began her academic career at University of Virginia before moving back to Michigan in 2010. Her research focuses on the neuroendocrine regulation of reproduction, specifically characterization of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) and kisspeptin neurons in four thematic areas: 1) development and generation of episodic GnRH release, 2) central mechanisms of estradiol negative and positive feedback, 3) stress regulation of fertility, and 4) models for infertility associated with hyperandrogenemia, such as polycystic ovary syndrome.
