Gina Woods, MD, MSCP, is Clinical Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of California, San Diego. She is a board-certified endocrinologist and certified menopause practitioner with clinical and research expertise in osteoporosis, metabolic bone disease, and women’s musculoskeletal health at midlife and beyond.
Dr. Woods directs the Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Program at UC San Diego Health, where she develops comprehensive, personalized treatment strategies integrating lifestyle, nutrition, and advanced pharmacologic therapies to reduce fracture risk and promote long-term musculoskeletal health. She has published and presented nationally and internationally on fracture risk assessment and strategies to optimize osteoporosis treatment selection and sequencing.
A dedicated educator and mentor, Dr. Woods serves as Associate Program Director for the Endocrinology Fellowship and co-directs the UCSD Bone Health Interest Group, a longstanding public educational program focused on fracture prevention and musculoskeletal health. She is actively involved in national endocrine and bone societies and is committed to advancing innovative, multidisciplinary models of preventive musculoskeletal care.
