William H. Herman, M.D., M.P.H.
William H. Herman, M.D., M.P.H. is a Professor of Internal Medicine and Public Health at the University of Michigan. He formerly directed the Michigan Diabetes Research and Training Center and the Michigan Center for Diabetes Translational Research. His research focuses on the broad areas of epidemiology, clinical trials, health services research, clinical economics, and health policy. He has served as a principal investigator for the Diabetes Prevention Program and Diabetes Prevention Program Outcome Study. From 2018 to 2021, he chaired the National Clinical Care Commission which was charged with making recommendations to the Congress to better leverage federal policies and programs to prevent and treat diabetes in the United States.
