André Lacroix is Professor in the Endocrine division and Department of Medicine at Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM)

He served as chief of the Endocrine Division and Director of the Endocrinology Training Program of Université de Montréal. He was Chairman of the Department of Medicine from 2002-2008 and Associate Director General for Medical and Academic Affairs at CHUM (2008-2012).

His major areas of research include molecular and genetic mechanisms of adrenal tumors and hyperplasias leading to Cushing’s syndrome, primary aldosteronism and adrenal tumorigenesis; he pioneered studies on the role of aberrant adrenal hormone receptors in adrenal overfunction; other areas include investigation and novel therapies of Cushing’s disease and syndrome, primary aldosteronism and adrenocortical cancer. He has published 280 articles and presented in more than 360 conferences internationally.

He served as President of the Canadian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (2005-2007) and of the International Society of Endocrinology (2016-20). He is currently co-editor of the Adrenal Section of UpToDate and Encyclopedia of Endocrine Diseases. He was elected Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences in 2008 and foreign member of the National Academy of Medicine of France in 2016.
