Dr. Silvia Federici is an endocrinologist and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Medical Biotechnology and Translational Medicine, University of Milan, and a clinical endocrinologist at IRCCS Istituto Auxologico Italiano in Milan.
Her work focuses on reproductive and sexual endocrinology, integrating translational and clinical approaches, with particular interest in the genetic and molecular determinants of reproductive endocrine dysfunction. She has contributed to studies investigating the genetic basis of congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (CHH) and primary ovarian insufficiency (POI), therapeutic options for pubertal induction, and the clinical and metabolic characterization of Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS).
A complementary area of her research and clinical activity focuses on gender-affirming hormone therapy and endocrine healthcare in transgender and gender-diverse individuals. In this setting, her work explores the interaction between hormonal exposure, metabolic trajectories, body composition, and long-term metabolic outcomes, with the aim of improving evidence-based and patient-centered endocrine care
