Dr. Yan Sun, Chief Physician at Shandong Provincial Hospital affiliated with Shandong First Medical University, holds a Ph.D. degree and serves as a Doctoral Supervisor. She is a Qilu Health and Health Leading Talent. Dr. Sun completed Joint Doctoral Training at the University of Sydney and was a Senior Visiting Scholar at Boston Children's Hospital. She is a member of the Chinese Society of Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism, Chairman of the Shandong Society of Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism, Chairman of the Shandong Adolescent Health and Medicine Committee, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Adolescent Health and Medicine Committee, and a member of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association of Pediatric Genetic Diseases. Her clinical expertise focuses on pediatric endocrinology and metabolism, including obesity, diabetes, short stature, and precocious puberty. She is also highly experienced in molecular diagnosis of genetic diseases and genetic counseling. Dr. Sun is an expert member of the Consensus on Standardized Diagnosis and Treatment of Type 1 Diabetes in Children in China (2020). She has contributed to the development of a data management platform and mobile app for children with type 1 diabetes, and pioneered the innovative application of closed-loop insulin pumps in Shandong for type 1 diabetes patients. She leads one National Natural Science Foundation project and three Shandong Natural Science Foundation projects.
