Alebachew Fasil Ashagre, HDR Student

Alebachew Fasil Ashagre is a PhD candidate in Medicine at The University of Adelaide, with a research focus on testosterone, inflammation, and men’s health. He has a background in clinical chemistry and experience in biomedical and population health research, including work on large-scale cohort and clinical trial studies such as MAILES and T4DM. His research investigates the relationship between testosterone and inflammatory markers in adult males, with findings presented at international scientific meetings. Before commencing his PhD, Alebachew served as a researcher and lecturer at University of Gondar, where he was involved in academic teaching and health research activities. He has also collaborated with researchers at The University of Sydney and works under the supervision of Professor Gary Wittert. His academic interests focus on advancing evidence-based research in endocrinology, metabolism, and men’s health.
