Irvine, CA, United States
Christy Marie Nguyen is a PhD candidate in the Department of Biological Chemistry at the University of California, Irvine. Under the co-mentorship of Dr. Marcus Seldin and Dr. Dequina Nicholas, Christy studies ovarian RNA splicing as a molecular link between reproductive dysfunction and systemic metabolic disease in polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), formerly known as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Her work aims to define how ovarian RNA processing shapes reproductive function, systemic metabolism, and long‑term disease risk. She is supported by the Endocrine Society through the Research Experiences for Graduate and Medical Students (REGMS) and Future Leaders Advancing Research in Endocrinology (FLARE) programs.
