The main interests are on neuroendocrinology and psychoneuroendocrinology. Published basic research is on rhythms neuroendocrinology and pineal gland, while the clinical is collaborative and multidisciplinary in the rare endocrine disorders, including thyroid cancer and adrenal disorders. The research projects include genetics and pathology in human endocrine tumors, genetics of thyroid cancer. The department is registered in Orphanet database of expert centers in rare endocrine diseases.
Clinical Expertise
My clinical practice covers the spectrum of neuroendocrinology, including pituitary and neuroendocrine tumors, as well as thyroid disorders and cancer.
Academic expertise as director of the Romanian Center for Medical Postgraduate Development (2005-2009), Professor at François Rabelais University in Tours, invited professor at "Friedrich-Alexander" Erlangen-Nuremberg University (2011), Germany, Professor at the "C. Davila" University Bucharest, Romania since 2014.
Scientific societies
Past President of the Romanian Psychoneuroendocrine Society (RPNES) and member ECAS since the beginning. Fellow of the Romanian Academy of Medical Sciences. Member of endocrine societies in Europe (ESE, ENSAT, ENETS, ENEA, ETA, BES) and US (Endocrine society, AACE, ATA).
