Guillermo Umpierrez is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Emory University and the Director of the Clinical Research Center at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He served as the 2022 President of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) for medicine and science. He is the author of over 500 scientific manuscripts and book chapters and has presented over 550 research abstracts at national and international scientific meetings. In addition, he is the director of the Emory Latino Diabetes Education Program, a nationally accredited Spanish Diabetes education program dedicated to providing diabetes education to Latinos.
