Elizabeth H. Harris, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, University of North Carolina (UNC), Chapel Hill and Medical Director of the Neuroendocrine Program within the Department of Medicine. Dr. Harris is a clinician in both the inpatient and outpatient setting, an educator of medical residents and fellows, and a clinical researcher within the UNC EnDO CRU (Endocrine, Diabetes and Obesity Clinical Research Unit) focusing on clinical trials within the Neuroendocrine space. Dr. Harris organizes and leads UNC's monthly multidisciplinary Pituitary Case Conference at which time the departments of Endocrinology, Neurosurgery, ENT, Neuroradiology, Pathology, Neuro-Ophthalmology and Radiation Oncology meet to review and discuss challenging cases. This conference educates participants, improves communication and collegiality between departments, and ultimately improves patient care. Dr. Harris considers it an honor to work in an environment where everyone is teaching and learning together with the same shared mission of serving the people of North Carolina and beyond.
