Obesity is a major, modifiable risk factor for cancer, influencing tumor initiation, progression, and therapy response. While obesity worsens cancer incidence and outcomes for many cancers, how weight loss improves tumor risk and progression remains uncertain. This session will highlight emerging mechanisms linking obesity, metabolism, and cancer biology, and examine the impact of weight loss through lifestyle, pharmacologic, and surgical interventions. Attendees will gain insights into prevention strategies and therapeutic opportunities.
