Dr. Emily N. Hilz is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Division of Pharmacology and Toxicology at The University of Texas at Austin, where she works with Dr. Andrea C. Gore, and earned her PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience at UT Austin in 2021 under the mentorship of Dr. Hongjoo J. Lee.
Dr. Hilz’s work integrates multigenerational behavioral phenotyping, hormonal analyses, and transcriptomic approaches to understand how endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) alter comorbid metabolic, neurological, and psychiatric outcomes. She has authored 20 peer-reviewed publications and is the recipient of multiple federal training and career development awards, including an NIEHS K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award. Her outreach and science communication efforts have been recognized with two Health and Human Services EDC Innovator Awards. Dr. Hilz is deeply committed to teaching, mentorship, and public engagement in environmental health science.
