My name is Ursula Kaiser, MD. I am a physician-scientist and endocrinologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital and a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. I direct the Laboratory for Reproductive Neuroendocrinology, with a research focus in basic and translational research in the fields of neuroendocrinology and reproductive endocrinology. My research group investigates the neuroendocrine control of reproduction and fertility, regulation of GnRH secretion across pubertal maturation, and transcriptional control of the gonadotropin genes. My translational research involves clinical and laboratory observations in humans, investigations in mouse models, and laboratory studies, aiming to elucidate the molecular and biological underpinnings of disorders of female reproduction across the lifespan, including precocious or delayed puberty, polycystic ovarian disease, hypothalamic amenorrhea, and menopausal vasomotor symptoms. I also enjoy mentoring and training the next generation of investigators.
