Prof Dr Nicole Reisch is a professor of endocrinology and Head of Endocrinology at the Ludwig Maximilians University (LMU) Hospital in Munich, Germany. Her research focuses on diseases of the adrenal glands and gonads; in particular, she is a leading international expert on adrenogenital syndrome (CAH).
From 1996 to 2002, Nicole Reisch studied medicine at the University of Rostock and the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, Germany with internships in Minneapolis, USA, and Nice, France. She completed her doctorate summa cum laude from the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg in 2006. After completing her specialist training in internal medicine and endocrinology/diabetology at the University Hospital Freiburg and the LMU Munich Hospital, she spent two years at the Centre for Endocrinology of the College of Medical and Dental Sciences at the University of Birmingham, UK, as part of a Marie Curie postdoctoral research fellowship. She became an assistant professor at the Department of Endocrinology, Medical Clinic IV in 2014. In 2017, she received a Heisenberg Professorship from the German Research Foundation and was appointed Full Professor of Internal Medicine/Endocrinology and Diabetology at the University Hospital Munich.
In addition to her clinical activities, Professor Reisch is a member of national and international professional societies and various networks for endocrinology. She is Vice President of the German Society of Endocrinology (DGE), a member of the Clinical Committee of the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) and Chair of the Adrenal Gland Thematic Group of the European Reference Network for Rare Endocrine Diseases (EndoERN).
