Stephen I. Stone, MD, is a pediatric endocrinologist and physician-scientist at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, and serves as co-chair of SY22: Maternal Adverse Metabolic Health and Offspring Developmental Programming: From Molecular Imprints to Weight at the Endocrine Society Annual Meeting. He completed his training in pediatric endocrinology at WashU Medicine/St. Louis Children's Hospital and joined the faculty in 2016.
Dr. Stone's research focuses on applying principles of genetics and precision medicine to rare endocrine diseases, including insulin-mediated pseudoacromegaly, a rare syndrome of extreme insulin resistance. He also has a strong interest in the intersection of diabetes and technology, including mobile technologies, insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors, and closed-loop algorithms. He is a proponent of patient-centered design in the care of diabetes and other endocrine diseases.
